Testimonials

Below are some testimonials from some of our valued clients.

Peter Dennis is the son of Egerton, a doyen and founding father of the McLaren Vale wine region.

It was he who implanted the love of good red wine, especially the regional shiraz, in my mind and helped structure my palate for a very rewarding life in wine thereafter. In essence he was the Bacchus who persuaded me to seek and destroy many bottles of the Dennis reds. And I’m still doing so.

Ian Daebler, ex-wine writer, Glengowrie S.A.

One of the great priveleges of this world is to be able to visit emerging winemakers and their outlets and chart their craft through the vintages. One of those is Peter Dennis, a “dirty hands, stained teeth’ craftsman which is reflected in his range of wines, particularly the McLaren Vale shiraz, in effect it’s a journey from the cradle to the grave.

J.K., Joslin

I live and work in Bangkok and yearn for good red wine, as this country is not noted for its wine industry. When I lived in Adelaide, my diary had a monthly note to visit Dennis of McLaren vale, firstly and other outlets if there was time-and money-left.  The region has a special appeal and the terroir nuances suit my palate, and I might add those of my colleagues in Thailand.

R.K., Bangkok

Friends often rotate dinner parties but in search of an extra sensory experience we decided on a blind tasting- four couples, four wines from different regions. Mine was a Dennis blend of shiraz and cabernet, without any particular age or even a great vintage. When all was revealed, mine won hands down. My small reserve was soon depleted that night, but I have bee stocking up on the label since. So have those friends.

W.C., North Glenelg

Being only an occasional drinker, I prefer to have the best my palate enjoys, which is not necessarily the dearest not the most popular brand. Over the years, my father taught me to drink small, enjoy big, which today has led me to really enjoy the consistency of a good McLaren Vale, in particular the Dennis, which offers that earthy depth of fruit, acid and tannin balance. It is so drinkable.

B.T., Oakbank.

Being a Victorian, the tendency is to drink only Yarra Valley wines or the rather yuppy and very expensive labels from the Mornington peninsula. My pocket dictates my palate to some extent, but I do like value for money and it get it with the consistent range of wines under the Dennis label.  They are affordable, presentable, drinkable and above all, available. It’s nice to be able to impress dinner guests.

M.T., Oakleigh, Victoria
